My friend, Matthew Turland, recently sent me a link to blog article arguing that PHP wasn't object-orientated.  When I was reading the response he wrote to the article, I noticed he mentioned polymorphism. This made me think about the arguments one can make on whether a language supports "pure" polymorphism.

Being primarily a Classic ASP developer, there is quite a steep learning curve when making that migration to .NET. That curve, of course, is different for everyone depending on prior experience with other programming languages and IDE's. In this article, I describe my transition and the obstacles and aids that I have encountered along the way.

Working with multiple system development projects, multiple custom development projects, and day to day bug fixes often make it hard to stick to a specific agile methodology as a company. Isn't the whole idea to BE agile, yet sticking to the agile methodology itself often causes a lack of agility...

Like .NET, Classic ASP/vbscript also has the power to prevent SQL injection with parameterized queries while simultaneously giving the added benefit to reduce the inflation of syscacheobjects.

Ever wish your data retrieval time could be faster in Classic ASP? I was able to give my application a significant boost in performance by just changing the method I was using to retrieve the data from an ADO Recordset object. I know of three ways which can be used to retrieve data from an ADO Recordset object in Classic ASP using VBScript.

Google now offers developer tools to build your own Google Gadget. These tools will allow you to not only highlight a subset of your site, but also allows you to combine information from multiple sites to offer a unique blend of information.

At work we use Visual Studio 2008 for most our development needs.  Sometimes you need something extra to get the job done. Here's my must-have list.

flickrGallery is an open-source photo gallery for jQuery that allows you to dynamically pull images from a photoset in Flickr.

The purpose of this plugin is to allow for a dynamic image gallery that is easy to add or remove images from. Once the gallery is added to a website, the code doesn't need to be changed again to update images. Everything, including image captions, is updated from Flickr.
